Mesalazine (ook: 5-aminosalicylzuur, 5-ASA, Mesalamine) is een lokaal ontstekkingsremmend middel, dat bij inflammatoire darmaandoeningen als colitis ulcerosa en ziekte van Crohn wordt gebruikt. Het is sinds 1984 in Nederland op de markt. [3]
